The Bad News, Again.
- More than 6 million people in the U.S. suffer with paralysis. That's, like, a ton of people. It's even more than the populations of Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia, combined.
- If you are paralyzed or disabled, you will receive 36 days of therapy, on average, before your insurance coverage ends. Yep, you read that right. 36 days.
- Roughly 25% of households, with a person who is paralyzed, make less than $10,000 per year -- and therapy is really expensive. Translation: ongoing therapy is not particularly affordable and those with less are particularly affected.
*The above is based on recent Reeve Foundation survey on the prevalence of paralysis in the U.S., which is real uplifting stuff.
The Good News!
NextStep subsidizes over 60% of the client expenses, making therapy, exercise and recovery considerably more affordable for our neighbors, friends and family members that are dealing with paralysis.
So, what's NextStep 365?
NextStep 365 is an ongoing fund that allows NextStep Fitness, a non-profit organization, to operate its world-class disability and paralysis training centers. This also allows NextStep Fitness to focus other fundraising efforts on expanding additional facilities into communities nationwide. And let's just say that we have boat loads of fun doing it!
So, how can you join the fun?
With an ongoing donation of just $1 per day -- literally 20 nickels -- we will continue to help the extremely underserved that are suffering from paralysis and physical disabilities. They deserve to live long, happy, and healthy lives, and should have an opportunity for recovery.
And, in other good news, your ongoing donation is tax deductible -- check with your pocket protector wearing accountant for details.
